Here's a great gift to indulge yourself or a friend in this upcoming christmas - Box of Blood. Collecting 5 movies and a documentary about vampires, this one is a real treat.
Firstly we have "Dracula", wich is a decent movie. It's not the Coppola version, but a TV movie made in Italy and it's simply the Dracula story retold on modern days. The movie itself it's nothing special, but it will keep you entertained.
Then, "Near Dark", a western/road/vampire movie. Lots of violence and some gore - this is not the typical movie with 19th century vampires but a story of a group of bloodsuckers who roam the country, indulging their dark needs.
"Nosferatu" is the 1979 version of the 1922 classic, featuring Klaus Kinski. It's the best of the lot since this one is, with no doubt, a mandatory piece for horror film lovers.
"Vampires: Out For Blood" is another b-movie with little interest. But vampire lovers will find this or that scene appealling to their taste.
Finally, "Vampyres: Daughters Of Dracula" is one of my favorite movies concerning this genre. It's a semi-erotic tale of two female vampires who lure men to their mansion to feed on them (and not only on their blood)...
To complete the goods on this marvellous box, we still have a documentary of about one hour concerning vampires. Nothing new to vampire lovers, though...
If you're interested and want to find more on any of the titles on this box, you may search each movie individually, since all of them were released by Anchor Bay on the UK.
So, this is a very good collection of vampire movies, wich will appeal on every horror movie fanatic. And the best thing is the price, since I always find this one on the "used and new" section for about £5, wich is truly a bargain.
