And thus there's no worry about minor spoilers.
After the end of the previous Spider-Man film, Peter's life has been turned upside down. He asks Dr. Strange for help in sorting the resulting mess out. But the spell that the Dr. uses goes wrong and beings from across the Multiverse pop up. They're familiar faces. Amazingly, despite the maths saying every possible universe exists somewhere, there doesn't seem to be a world in the Multiverse where 3D tv is still commercially viable. Hopefully people will get the message.
Can Spidey sort it all out and get the personal life he wants?
You've seen the film. So you know.
Many give this five stars. I give it four. Because despite a great first half the second isn't so strong. It's overlong. Crowded. The whole of the second half comes about because of one character decision that feels like it comes from the needs of the plot rather than the actions of the character. And that's not how you write drama. And the ending is like a certain Spidey story from comics. Which wasn't popular.
I'm not a Marvel comics reader, and thus am not as familiar with the character as others. So if it does work as it should, I will hold my hands up. But shouldn't it work for non-readers?
Bigger problem is the last set piece. Every one of these films has one. And frankly they feel formulaic for me. I don't feel the jeopardy in them anymore.
And it doesn't really follow through on one thing, which only gets a cursory check in come an end credits scene. But that one was probably going to be impossible anyhow, given that this wasn't going to be a fifteen cert movie.
So those little factors take my rating down slightly. But whatever. Because:
This is an actual review of the dvd rather than just the movie!
The dvd has the following language and subtitle options:
Languages: English, Czech, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Slovak. English audio description.
Subtitles: English, Bulgarian, Croatian, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene.
The disc begins with an anti piracy ad, but you can skip this via the next button on the dvd remote.
A spectacular Spider journey with Tom Holland.
Five and eight mins respectively, all about Tom Holland's time in the role, and all about the main cast's times together. The first one has slightly more substance. But both do have audition and behind the scenes footage, and are just about worth it for those.
by girlfriend Zendaya as Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson: and best friend Jacob Batalon
as Ned Leeds:.
Following his earlier battle against Mysterio Spiderman has become public enemy
number '1' because the public believed the Super-Hero Spiderman had killed to be
a true hero, leading newspaper editor had accused Spiderman of murder and also
revealed the discredited hero as Peter Parker .
The accusation had not only affected Peter but his close friends and Aunt May also.
Peter is advised to seek the help of Dr Strange ( Benedict Cumberbatch ) to help
him clear his friends and family of involvement with Spiderman by using a spell,
because Peter keeps interrupting Dr Strange the spell goes wrong, what it does do
is bring forth many villains from down the years that Spiderman had battled.
The Villains now belonging in a different dimension/universe, with help Spiderman
has to try and send them back home....many a battle follows.
With many familiar faces from the past -
This is a splendid/ 4k purchase, enhancing every visual aspect of the film.
Often funny, frequently dark and a little sad.....A must for Marvel Fans.
ok, this film was made during a global pandemic & the studio's desperately need to pull-in alot of money etc however that's hurting the produced films.
This film very happily "once made public" that the previous x2 Spiderman actors will be playing a role within this new film release... however when you look how little they actually contribute within the films its little to nothing & then you also look into the false information of an evil doctor strange etc being the multi-verses worst nightmare "shocker" this doesn't happen!!
I'd strongly believe this film should've been a two-parter film giving more information, more plot twists etc for the Spiderman/Dr strange & newer multi-spider verse characters to deal with...
then a "no-one seems to have commented on" why is it the evil villains of past Spiderman films come back & yet its x2 Spiderman for the current "older/moved on etc" no 'presumed current villains' thrown into the mix etc no current Spidey villains also to deal with adding more to the mix etc I'm sorry to say this film is really lack lustring forgettable.
the film we get.. well ok, there are some good scenes, some scenes maybe shocking in the whole marvel verse etc... the ending of the film is a nice touch "predictable" but nice all the same, this will ultimately be changed via a super hero saving of a damsel in distress in the next film etc, I'd not be surprised if we see a spin-off for Spidey's side kick in a Dr strange flick OR in future Spidey films
could I recommend "well it is what it is"
as per many new films we're seeing the film industry struggling amidst the industrial actions original story writers/script etc hence one of the reasons we're seeing many remakes of past films
Spider-man has been outed as Peter Parker, this bad for not only him bet his closest friends as well. He turned to Doctor Strange to fix things. Of course this does not go well. It causes big villains of two universes to attack him but help is on yhe way.
A good movie, good effects, and actually found jokes funny then silly unlike the other movies in this trilogy. Though the biggest thing shout thus movie are the guest stars, and things setup here. I really hope there is a fourth movie.
Otherwise though, the film had some elements similar to other marvel films with some tongue in cheek humour, good nods to the other franchises and so on. Overall happy with the film and knowing its storyline, I don't regret my purchase.
