2 sets with unreadable discs unacceptable

On my 2nd set now since the first had 2 faulty disc. Returned the 1st one and ordered another and yet again some discs are unreadable and have these melted specs on them, did anyone even check these discs work or just take it on faith that they do?

I can only conclude there isn't any 1 set with all discs working correctly, so no point in returning it again for a 3rd time. If you're hoping that a box set has at bare minimum readable discs, look else where these guy's are completely inept.

Fun series, decent picture, good subtitles.

A lot of fun, no problems so far (mid season 2).

The picture quality is decent, even on my hi-def TV. A previous version of the DVDs apparently had terrible picture quality, but no more. Perhaps the new version uses double-layer DVDs; this allows better pictures, but some old players might have problems with the discs.

The subtitles also work fine now.

I've experienced none of the picture freezing problems that another reviewer has reported, even though I have an el cheapo Samsung BD-J4500R Blu-Ray player. I am only in mid season 2, however. But I watch just an episode a day; there's plenty of time for my player to cool down. I don't binge-watch for hours straight, which may cause a player to overheat.

I am only in the middle of Season 2; if I have problems later, I'll be back!

I feel this deserves 4.5 stars.

The only thing that makes it lose points are:

1) Season one has some episodes that sounds like they are being played back in a can...strangely metallic but it only lasts a few episodes and it's not terminal by any stretch.

2) ALL the episodes are very quiet. Sometimes I forget to lower the volume on my amp after watching Stargate and end up exploding my eardrums when Netflix comes on.

That aside, great packaging (Sturdy, would travel well. Compact), great, clean visuals, functional menu. It's well put together, no frills...I like it.

It's exactly what I wanted.

The discs have disclaimer that due to the age of the original programs,you may experience tech. anomalies.The most obvious is audio sometimes out of sync with actors lips.Subtle but it doesn't bother me Sometimes there are digital skips and pixilation.I'm using an older player to cut down on this.The discs are in sleeves so I clean them before playing.I also clean my DVD player after each disc.The discs are in good condition.I saw a few episodes when it first aired but never all of it so I bought the series.I'm just starting season 5.There is a lot of content so lots of viewing time.I'm interested enough to keep watching, but I won't keep the series.

I brought this as a previous set I purchased did not play some of the disc and some were very grainy, more like VHS quality. This set was far superior in quality and almost looks blu ray. I am very happy and impressed with this set and the audio is 10/10. I highly recommend this set compared to others that are on Amazon.
