Una película de aventuras muy entretenida, sin más pretensiones que la de hacer pasar un buen rato y en nuestro caso lo consiguió. Por cierto después de que se acabe la película no apaguéis el reproductor, cuando empiecen los nombres de los actores hay que esperar al final y hay una pequeña sorpresa de unos segundos.

Loved it, but then I love campy movies! I watched on cable and had to buy it! It was stupid and funny all at the same time! I love movies like this! I think a lot of people are overthinking this movie, it was supposed to be campy and silly from what I could tell and so from my corner of the world, I hope people will take another look and stop being so serious and see it what it was made to be which what I think was to lower our expectation of others and enjoy them for who they really are inside....

Timeless Bullock rarely fails to entertain. Pretty good film. Has vague similarities to another romance writer adventure film, but plenty of new material. Tatum is definitely good at comedy and not taking himself seriously. A keeper to watch again on a girls' night.

If you thought the 1984 film “Romancing the Stone” and its 1985 sequel, “The Jewel of the Nile” were fun then you’re in luck. In “The Lost City” Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) is an academic and a historian who shared adventures with her archaeologist husband until his untimely death. Loretta turns to writing romance novels for her life’s second act and finds great success. However, when we meet Loretta she is burned out, has writer’s block and is facing a book tour to promote her latest novel that she does not want to do. Things go from bad to worse when she finds out her cover model, Alan Caprison (Channing Tatum), is accompanying her to boost audience enthusiasm by taking his shirt off a lot. During the first stop Loretta is abducted by eccentric billionaire Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe) who believes she holds the secret to discovering an ancient treasure.

I enjoyed “The Lost City” more than I expected and found it captured the spirit of “Romancing the Stone” while managing not to feel like plagiarism. Sandra Bullock continues to demonstrate her comedic abilities and her chemistry with Channing Tatum is credible. For his part, Tatum is very good as the studly but not too bright cover model that secretly has a thing for Loretta. When Sage is kidnapped Alan leaps into action not quite grasping that he isn’t the heroic Dash McMahon from Loretta’s stories leading to some funny moments as he plays the hero. Also noteworthy is Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Loretta’s underappreciated literary agent Beth. Randolph provides a number of laughs between her trying to keep Loretta on task and motivated, then later doing whatever it takes to rescue Loretta and Alan.

The pace is brisk without being frantic, the dialog is peppered with amusing one-liners throughout, and the jungle scenery is beautiful. I’m a sucker for these kinds of tales and if you like the Indiana Jones or National Treasure franchises or the more recent CBS/Paramount+ series “Blood & Treasure” then I believe you will enjoy “The Lost City” too. I have not seen anything about a sequel but the movie ends leaving the possibility open and the ratings were decent as well as the box office take so who knows?

"The Lost City", as an overall romantic comedy was delightful, with a good flow to the story line. The performances of Sandra Bullock (Loretta Sage) and Daniel Radcliffe (her kidnapper) were spot on, as moral opposites. This provided symmetry to the undulating humor and drama. Channing Tatum's performance (of Alan) was very supportive providing Ms. Sage the opportunity to break with her self imposed pining reclusive state for her deceased and beloved life partner. And along the way Alan found a better self. As for Joy Randolph's character (zany manager) I would have recruited Queen Latifa for a take charge personality; and still got some experienced humor. Perhaps she wasn't available or there wasn't enough in the budget. The last but by far not the least was the two short efforts by Brad Pitt, as the professional soldier of fortune hired to lead the rescue of Loretta Sage. Well done! This film wasn't a laugh-out-loud affair, however it did provide an entertaining performance.

This 2022 color film of 111 minutes arrived in good time and had excellent picture & sound. And by the way, there is no island in the Atlantic Ocean where indicated on the story map. Also, Danial Radcliffe's character wasn't a billionaire, but rather a disowned son of a billionaire family; where his brother inherited the family business and fortune. As for the treasure, you'll have to see the ending for yourself.
