This has been on my Watchlist for a while. The reason being is because I’ve seen multiple other films that have a similar storyline and THIS MEANS WAR just didn’t have that “must watch” feeling to it.

This film has a little action, comedy, romance and a good looking cast. It’s not the greatest and I most definitely wouldn’t recommend this one over another, but it’s a nice easy viewing film with a simple plot.

It’s not one I’ll be watching again, and the dvd has gone straight into the charity bag. But this is an enjoyable film; I don’t feel like I’ve wasted the past hour & half.

Recommend? Yes.
Rewatch? No.

'This Means War' is about two secret spies who accidently begin to date the same girl (Lauren). They then continue to compete against each other and both try to see who can impress Lauren the most. This is a fun romantic comedy with a great cast and a few funny scenes. There isn't much action until the end despite being about two spies. The story was well-paced and it keeps you entertained watching the two spies compete against each other. Of course, the best thing and main reason to watch this is for Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy who are all great. This isn't there best film, but it sure is entertaining enough.

This film is a little far-fetched. Its almost impossible to imagine how two CIA agents, who are best friends, end up seeing the same person and spend government resources spying on each other all without her knowing. But to be honest I didn't really care. The story progresses well and the characters live up to expectation. The DVD extras are a good reason to buy it. There is a deleted scene that in my opinion should have made it into the film. I don't see the need in adding the alternate endings to it. I've never been a fan of alternate endings. I don't think I've ever seen one that I would have preferred. All it makes me think of is that the filmmakers weren't happy enough with what they had so they make different ones and hope nobody makes a fuss over the one they eventually decide will make the final cut. RANT OVER!

I imagine this film would be great for a stay in date night. It's got the action and testosterone for the guys and the romance and happy-ending for the girls. What more can you need? (except popcorn!)

This film 1st rate love triangle Tom hardy Chris pine Reese witherspoon! 2 cia agents r best friends tom hardy the more shy of the 2 puts himself on a dating site and reese witherspoon is on there to! So tom n reese meet and arange a date ,reese goes to a video shop n who does she bump into ?Chris pine who finds her atractive but she blows him off !"tells him to go away". !!!! But he's persistant and turns up at 1 of reese witherspoons seminars,she is a product tester.Chris pine keeps interupting it and forcers her to make a date with him ,she and him chris pine does'nt know that hes going to see tom hardys girl.???? When they find out that they r both seeing the same girl Thats when This means war comes to bare!!!!lol They use all there colleagues and devices n services to keep tabs on Reese to see what she likes ,wants n most off all who she preferes!!! But also they have serious work to carry out. A Russian gangster is after killing them both so with all of this and them trying to out do each other makes for a very entertaining film I cannot tell much more or the plot and the outcome will be spoilt !! By the way Tom hardy has a son n an estranged wife who think he's an estate agent lol and that is something else which comes to a head ?? So iff you want a spy film with a great twist and is hilleriously funny this for you .

Was a bit sneaky and bought this for my wife. It was a clever way of buying her a chick flick as a little extra present to put me in the good books, but with the added bonus that it had a bit of comedy and action running alongside the usual romantic tripe.

Reese Witherspoon is her usual dopey self, not funny in the slightest, but able to pull of some reasonably good acting (if anyone has seen Four Christmases, she's basically the same character in this).

Tom Hardy is fantastic, as usual. I must admit I've become a huge Tom Hardy fan, he just seems able to perform any role and undertake any character with brilliance. Got to be one of the very best British actors of all time.

The other guy, I forget his name - Probably due to the fact that he's annoying and has little or no acting ability whatsoever. Oh no wait there was this one scene where he.... No wait that was someone else, in a completely different film... No the other guy is just pants!

Generally a reasonably good film. I would have only given it 3 stars as a film myself, but the Mrs liked it and it's a clever way of treating the woman in your life to a chick flick without having to sit through endless hours of Renee Zellweger, Sarah Jessica Horse-face or Katherine Heigl!
