First DVD in a great series! I caught an ep one night and bought the DVD. It's hilarious and as a long term fan of the original, I actually have no problem in saying that this really livens up the cannon and is great!

It is different but after so long of one style, it is nice to see a lighter take on the Transformers universe. Some great characters in this new serious as well as old favourites that are a little more like the IDW comics.

Now I'm a hardcore G1 fan, always have been. I kinda watched Beast Wars/Machines but never could get into the cartoons that followed.

I was really suprised at how much I enjoyed "Animated". I think that its the best Transformers cartoon since G1, plus theres loads of references to that beloved cartoon.

Get this DVD!!

These are the first three episodes of the new Transformers series. Although the animation makes it look like a juvenile show, there are many references and in-jokes that only adults and G1 fans would actually understand.

The story is basically introducing our main heroes and villians after the Great War. The Autobots have won and the Decepticons are scattered thoughout the galaxy. We see Optimus, Prowl, Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Bulkhead as grunts, working to maintain the space bridge network. After finding an object and battling with Megatron, they end up on 22nd-century Earth.

After they arrive, they meet 8-yr. old Sari Sumdac, who helps them with her special key and spunky personality against a certain Decepticon. Along the way, she helps them adapt to Earth culture, and becomes an integral part of the team.

As the Autobots adjust to their new life, we get to see them evolve into better (and sometimes brasher) 'bots, who learn to appreciate their new home with its array of "organics". This all leads into the first full season of Transformers: Animated.

If you can get past the new animation style and keep an open mind about some of the other changes, you'll certainly enjoy this new series of adventures with old friends.
