Aspect ratio changes almost every shot
I'm mainly evaluating the 3D Blu-Ray, not the movie itself. I've bought all previous movies over the years for my son in 3D. This time the movie wasn't released on 3D Blu-Ray in the US, so I ordered it from the UK. It's all region coded so it will play on any US Blu Rau player. That's where the good news end. Someone, unfortunately, decided to have this transfer switch between aspect ratios on almost every single shot. The aspect ratio changes constantly. I find this incredibly irritating and am surprised there aren't more people complaining about this. Just to make sure this is understood; I am not speaking of an aspect ratio change of scenes that were shot in a larger format for IMAX as was done in some of the previous movies. In this transfer, the aspect ratio literally changes from shot to shot into all kinds of frame sizes.
PS: After some research, it appears the film was actually released in theaters with these aspect ratio switches. I'm not sure why a filmmaker would do something like this as it is incredibly distracting to watch.

Spectacular movie (little spoilers)
This is an incredible and spectacular film. It is not the best Transformers film, but certainly among the best. I have no idea how they are managing to get all these images on the screen. The Transformer planet Cybertron is very beautiful, but even Earth looks beautiful, especially Namibia and Stonehenge, with Cybertron in the background, a giant spaceship hovering above Stonehenge, all kind of flying Transformers including a dragon Transformer and this combined with all kind of aircrafts from Earth and Anthony Hopkins walking up to Stonehenge. All this in one image....incredible !!! Michael Bay is probably the best action director in the business. He might not get Oscars for his films, but he does know how to please the audience. It is a pity, but this is the last Transformers film he will direct.
The opening scene in King Arthur's time is also very spectacular. There is even a clear hint to the first film. By the way, the title The last knight revers not to a transformer but to Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), who gets a talisman from a dying transformer. This talisman will eventualy transforms in...... Well you can guess it; what is the weapon of a knight?
Optimus Prime turns evil in this movie....He is under the spell of an evil Transformer queen, who looks great by the way. The remainder of the original 12 Transformer Knights from King Arthur's time want to punish Optimus for his evil deeds, but "The last knight" intervenes !
What's not to like... One thing: the constant shift between movie image in 2.40 en 1.90 format. I don't know why they do that. It is very unpleasant. I know the film was shot in Imax (1.90), why don't keep it in that format. Maybe a few scene where shot in 2.40, but in the movie theater the whole film was in Imax, then why is the 3D blu-ray not in Imax format all the time. It is something I just don't understand. Maybe someone can explain that to me ?
Anyway, if you want 2.5 hours of mindless fun. This is for you. If you want intelligent drama....look somewhere else.

Okay movie but very tired.
The story is very tired and understandably overlong. The story did not have the pep of the first Transformers movie. The sound design is fantastic as is the visuals but that's about it. Mark Wahlberg in his role as Cade is very good. From a technical side I was very glad that the 3D version of the film was presented in full screen 16:9 frame which a lot of 3D movies aren't. The bonus disc has the various making of videos which sadly has Michael Bay going around and swearing at every opportunity he got, although it comes across as light hearted I don't think that it was professional.

Amazing for action and Transformers fans...
If you enjoy the previous Transformers films then this film will not let you down. It is fantastic. If you do not like Transformers, this film is not for you, but for people who like action films and big special effects then this is superb. It is funny in places too, great actors are in it like Sir Anthony Hopkins, Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and of course Optimus Prime. The story is good, effects are good, and the set pieces are epic. Optimus turns evil in this one and the world is in jeopardy, lead by the amazing Bumblebee, they must find an artefact from the past and get it before the evil Decepticons. Who will win, the Autobots or the Decepticons?! why is Optimus evil?! can the world be saved?!

Absolutely awful
This was awful, crap plot, too long and awful acting. Storyline basically follows rest of the franchise. Creating more pointless robot characters to sell toys. Bought this for the nephew as a Xmas present and wept at having to spend money buying this drivel!
