Sin duda una de las mejores peliculas sobre deportes de contacto jamas hechas. Olvidate de rompiendo las reglas y never back down, esta pelicula no tiene nada que ver. Coge los mejores elementos de Rocky, Million Dollar Baby y The Fighter y en mi opinion consigue superarlas, incluido un final epico y lacrimogeno que no deja a nadie indiferente. Aunque trata sobre un deporte practicamente desconocido en españa la pelicula es tan buena que tambien gustara los profanos.

Sobre la version:
- No tiene subtitulos en español pero si tienes algo de idea de ingles no es dificil verla con los subtitulos en ese idioma. Ademas asi se disfrutan mas las actuaciones, especialmente la de Nick Nolte (enorme, de verdad).
- Los extras no tienen subtitulos, ni en español ni en ingles (tal vez en aleman? no me acuerdo). Una lastima porque son interesantes, incluyen una escena eliminada y, entre otras cosas, un reportaje sobre mma con entrevista a Greg Jackson (uno de los entrenadores mas prestigiosos de este deporte)

Ya lo creo que el film es sobre GUERREROS...Siempre que está Nick Nolte en un film tenemos garantizados todos los aspectos y "matices" de ese film en su calidad, intensidad y contenidos. Y cuando está acompañado de excelentes co protagonistas, aún más. Film que, en el fondo, trata sobre la familia y los vínculos humanos, y sobre todos aquellos aspectos antropológicos, afectivos y sociales que envuelven nuestra existencia. Con un excelente montaje y fotografía. Y un muy buen ritmo narrativo. Otro exponente más de este género que es el de las "peleas profesionales". Apto para quien ame este tipo de historias.

Es una pena que haya buenas películas, como es en este caso, que en España no tengan salida en DVD o Bluray. Y que, sin embargo, se comercialicen auténticas bazofias...menos mal que siempre tendremos la opción de conseguirlas a través de Amazon y en otros países europeos que valoran más el buen cine. La peli es buena, con unas interpretaciones tremendas por parte de todo el reparto, a destacar Tom Hardy y Nick Nolte. Y el final, muy bien acompañado de la preciosa canción About today de The national, es una maravilla.

A surprisingly involving film, “Warrior” takes the world of Mixed Martial Arts as the setting for this moving and dramatic tale of two brothers and their estranged father.

A film that could so easily have followed the clichéd pattern of so many sports melodramas (particularly the boxing genre) this one manages to add a few twists that carries it above the expected norm.
There are fine performances from Hardy and Edgerton as the brothers – one a teacher returning to fighting due to financial difficulty, the other an ex-soldier honouring a promise. The third factor is provided by Nolte, who puts in a very well measured, understated performance as their recovering alcoholic father.
What makes the story work so well is in the balance of sympathy the plot gradually builds for each character; In my opinion it is inevitably difficult to take sides, as details of each character`s past and present situations are revealed and as the pair find themselves in the same tournament culminating in their ultimate confrontation.
Aside from being a well-scripted piece, the camera-work and editing of the exciting fight scenes - particularly the spectacle of the tournament - is dynamic and effective, making for brutal, but compelling viewing.

An emotional and rousing sports movie, well considered and compulsively entertaining.

To say that this film is even close to Rocky is a joke and an insult to the Rocky films , the Rocky films had a heart and soul this rubbish is for the charity bin section marked down from 25p to 15p. if you are 8 yrs old this might amuse for 2 longs dull hours but if you have a brian a little older you will have this on fast forward. The fight scenes are dull and finish after 2 min. its all arm bar after arm bar Dull dull . The only thing that saved this fim is Jennifer morrisons top body , her legs wow ! tom hardys Trapeziues wow ....... Rotten tomatoes have this on at 83% = joke

Bought this along with another tom hardy dvd as was looking for tom hardy dvds that I ain't watched or bought and came across this and venom and bought them and I'm not disappointed at all as love the film however I was like please hug ur bro in the film dont fight but guess they need to get it out of there system for there differences but got my happy end when they finally do hug it out

This film is about more than MMA (if it was about just that, I would not have enjoyed it as much). It's also about the complicated relationship between two brothers and their respective strained relationship with their father. Although it isn't explored in great depth in the film, Tommy is the more damaged of the brothers, following a friendly fire incident in his time in the Marines, of which he was the only survivor. His refusal to speak about it has me thinking he suffers from PTSD as many ex-servicemen do, and the fighting is his outlet. This makes him the more complicated of the brothers, more bitter at being left to care for their dying mother and just generally pissed of at his family and his life.
Aside from the back story though, the fight scenes are amazing and Tom Hardy transformed himself physically for this role, which is amazing dedication and certainly paid off. I cannot think of a single role that Tom could not take on and execute perfectly, he is an actor who deserves a lot more recognition. Nick Nolte is great too as the guilt-ridden father trying to be there for both his sons, unfortunately probably too little, too late in their eyes.
If you like MMA, watch it, if you like a drama that is thought provoking and quite sad in places, watch it...and if, like me, you just like looking at Tom Hardy in just a pair of shorts...definitely watch it because damn he is gorgeous.
It wont disappoint it's a great film.

I ordered this off Amazon on Tuesday and it came on Thursday. I couldn't wait to watch it. I was not disappointed, and enjoyed the entire viewing experience. It's one of those annoying movies that you just can't find even one slight, niggling fault with to mention in the review. I watched a boxing movie recently and there were 3 fights in the whole film, there is plenty of fighting in this one, in and out of the ring. Tommy Roiordan, a marine on the run, asks his father to train him for a MMA tournament where the winner gets $5 million - he wants it to support the family of a former marine and friend who was killed by friendly fire in Iraq. Meanwhile, his brother Brendan is a Physics teacher; and an ex UFC fighter; and has been fighting in amateur competitions. When he is suspended from School, he starts to train again, then when the original fighter for the SPARTA tournament is put out of action, Brendan enters the tournament. The brother's father, an ex drunk and abusive husband, falls off the wagon after a huge row with Tommy, and this is absolutely heart wrenching to watch, as Tommy takes care of his father. The final arrives and the two last standing are Tommy and Brendan; who needs the money to save his house from being repossessed. The fight scenes are incredible, the story and characters believable and the ending totally satisfactory. It's just a fantastic movie. Very highly recommended.
