Back in 2007 I, like most of those who went to see the first film in theaters, really enjoyed the original Transformers. I skipped out on the 2nd one two years later after hearing about the negative buzz around the film. Now I'm not one to pay too much attention to what critics say for the simple fact that I'll make up my own damn mind about a movie. But I wasn't even looking for TF2 reviews or stories and yet the negative buzz STILL made its way to me. From movie websites to podcasts, I can remember hearing and reading about how much an abomination the 2nd film was (and as the release date got closer the venom towards the movie grew and grew). When I finally got to seeing the first sequel on cable I couldn't believe the sh*t that I saw. There's just absolutely no defending that film. It's obnoxious (along w a majority of the cast), overwhelming and has some of the worst attempts at humor I've EVER seen. And no matter what anyone involved w that film says about how they were affected by the writer's strike, TF2 is the direct result of what happens when you give almost 95% control over to Michael Bay. I can bet you any amount of money that the worst jokes in this film were because of him. The guy has one of the most juvenile senses of humor I've ever seen put to film (and I have no problem w irreverent, childish, immature jokes but there IS a way to get away w it). Oh, and Shia LaBoofBoof's constant yelling and screaming doesn't help matters. TF2 was a sh*tfest. When part 3 came out I wanted to go and check it out solely for its use of 3D. While I fully expected to see another dumb movie w amazing visuals I was actually surprised at how fun the movie was. A marked improvement over the last one. By the time TF: AOE came out I had no desire to see it whatsoever. I was done w the TF movies and not even the inclusion of the Dinobots meant anything to me. But then I ended up seeing the movie recently and I gotta say: it's pretty good. At first I scratched my head at the inclusion of Mark Wahlberg in the film. Here's a guy who's had decent success carrying his own films (especially if they're released in January) and has had even better success when he's paired w other popular actors (or in the case of Ted a well liked creator of a much loved cartoon series) and now he's starring in the FOURTH film of a franchise...about fighting robots? But about 20mins into the movie I was already digging the vibe of the film (which believe it or not feels different enough at the beginning to get your hopes up high enough to think that this movie might actually be incredible) and I actually really appreciated Wahlberg being in it. His presence alone gave the movie some weight (no, he doesn't deliver an Oscar-worthy performance but he's good in it). After sitting through what felt like 9hrs (but was really close to 3), I was impressed. The movie worked for me. No, it's not a masterpiece and ultimately didn't end up being as incredible as my initial feelings led me to believe. But this is pure escapist fun. It won't work for most people (especially those who really are done w these films) but I quite enjoyed the movie. Unfortunately it still has a lot of corny Michael Bay humor but the man does know how to stage action sequences.

Ich habe eine 4 Sternebewertung gewählt weil der Film spannend ist von Anfang bis zum Schluss!

Da schon so viele in den Rezessionen über den Film und seine Geschichte geschrieben hat möchte ich gerne
meine persönliche Meinung zu diesen Film wiedergeben!

Zum Positiv aus meiner Sicht:

- Endlich mal ein neuer Charakter der es auch weiß gut rüber zu kommen!
- Eine geile Frau ;)
- Und mal ein neuer bösewicht ( in gewissermaßen)
- Spannung pur!
- Typisch USA, die machen einfach die besten Filme!
- Super Schauspieler!

Zum Negativen aus meiner Sicht:

- Das selbe Klischee das selbe Drama wie in jedem der letzten 3 Transformersfilme!
- Ich persönlich fand es viel zu ernst diesmal , weniger Witze !
- Nach 3 Filmen einfach langweilig wenn man es zusammen nimmt!
- Die Geschichte mit den Dinosaurier ist daher gegriffen um endlich wieder ein
Anreiz zu bieten mehr über die Metallstars zu erfahren!

Das schlimmste ist: ( Achtung Spoiler -- ein kleines naja unwichtige Teil)
Im Film wird am Ende gezeigt: ES KOMMT EIN 5. Teil raus!

Es ist wie bei fast to furious, wenn man zu viel von einem bekommt nervt es!

Und mich nervt es jetzt einfach, es ist keine Serie die man X beliebig mal im Kino kucken kann.
Meist ist der 1. Film immer der bessere!
Hier kommt der tragische Gedanke zum Einsatz: Wollen die uns einfach nur das Geld aus den Taschen ziehen?!

Obwohl ich von fast to furious Überhaupt nichts halte und der Schauspieler der gestorben ist einfach für mich keine
berühmtheit ist finde ich es tragisch jeden Film in eine Länge zu ziehen die eigentlich nicht sein muss!

Meine DVD Sammlung ist nun mal so und ich habe nun mal den Zwang eine Fortsetzung kaufen zu müssen, aber
eins weiß ich jetzt schon:

Den 5. Teil kaufe ich aus protest nicht, irgendwann reicht es mal!

Für jeden der die ersten 3 Teile geschaut hat kann ich sagen: Besser als der 3. Teil, schlechter als der 1. und 2. Teil! ( Nach meiner Meinung!)
Wer einfach das Geld hat kann es kaufen wer es nicht hat sollte es einfach lassen!

( Die Rezession ist nach meiner Meinung beschrieben daher hoffe ich das ihr eure Kommentare in Grenzen haltet!)

After the war, the American government have ordered that their once allies the 'Autobot's' are hunted
down by the bounty-hunters coupled with K.S.I's robots, however their main target 'Optimus Prime'who
remains elusive.
'Cade Yeager' (Mark Wahlberg) an inventor of useful robotic machines lives on a plot of land with his
daughter 'Tessa' (Nicola Peltz) the home and land under threat of repossession, he's fallen behind with
his payments.
'Cade' buys a run-down looking truck hoping to take it apart and sell the parts to help make ends meet,
little did he know the truck is in fact 'Transformer' 'Optimus Prime'
The C.I.A have traced the truck and are on it's trail, 'Optimus' helps 'Cade' and 'Tessa' escape the threat
that buying the truck had brought to their doorstep, 'Tessa's' boyfriend 'Shane' (Jack Rayner) helps their
escape picking them up in his car, this leading to a well staged chase sequence.
K.S.I' is fronted by inventor 'Joshua Joyce' (Stanley Tucci) the group are building an army of Robots,
'Optimus Prime' calls for the remaining 'Autobots' to join him to stop the threat against his kind.
Obviously, when buying a run-down truck 'Cade' didn't know what he was getting himself and now his daughter
and her boyfriend into, they are about to find out however.
K.S.1 had used the technology from the remains of the 'Decepticons' after the war, to recreate robots with the
ability to 'Transform' which is why the group wanted to use 'Optimus Prime' and his fellow kind for.
What hadn't been realized by 'Joshua' is that by using the technology from the 'Decepticons' including 'Megitron'
they were helping to re-incarnate 'Earths' most deadly enemy that could not be controlled as had been the
intention, though colleague 'Harold Attinger' (Kelsey Grammer) was a little more knowing on that score.
With the 'Robots' breaking loose, only 'Optimus Prime' and his four fellow Transformers stand in their way, they
also need the help of former adversery 'The Dinobot's' along with the detemined 'Cade' and with 'Shane' and 'Tessa'
This is a special-effects dream, great action, great visuals, thoroughly enjoyable.....superb 2-D and eye popping
3-D
Picture and Sound Quality excellent.

* A Spark of Design.........and so much more (over 3 hours of features)

Ok first this a good film Yes it is. It is not a great or a fabulous or a fantastic or an amazing film.

It is so much better than the third not as good as the second but as good as the first

It has a new story a new cast and a better pacing and balance between CGI and Humans

The film has a lot of problems the female lead is a bit of a Joke not just the performance the character is the scream help me help me type relay badly written The Hunky square jaw good hair bearded hero is as bad if not worse terrible relay bad
The story wonders around with out any real narrative or frankly a point I can see they are attempting to reinvent and they do but what a poor effort

Now why has it got a 4 out of 5

Mark Wahlberg is really top notch he is on top form and its his movie the comedy is there from the humans again and this time because the balance between the CGi and the humans is much better the CGI is also relay good and the set peace stuff is a lot of fun the reinvention of the franchise along the plot lines we see put in place are interesting the bad guys are bad the good guys are good and the women (grown up females) Look fantastic.

So if you are looking for a switch off the clever bits of brains and enjoy CGI and big bangs this is way better then you would expect so at the right price have a go

On a serious note and this is no word of a lie their are no not one Black/afro Caribbean/African American Character WHY! also why is the blond archaeologist in this film we see her doing nothing at all also the Chinese assistant is relay good and yet again is used once combined with the screamy daughter it is not a good movie for the females. Also the best comic character dispersers why?

Si je recommande ce film, c'est vous vous en doutez, pour plusieurs raisons, dont la principale est qu'il est truffé de A à Z par les dialogues les plus nuls et les plus stupides qu'il ne m'est jamais été donné d'entendre dans un film ! C'est en cela qu'il vous apportera, à coup sûr, une bonne tranche de rigolade (bien que ce ne soit pas l'effet escompté). Mais sincèrement, on croirait qu'ils ont été écrits par un gamin de la maternelle ! :D

De toute ma vie, je n'avais vu cela ! Surtout dans un film d'un tel calibre. Hallucinant ! Pas d'autre mot.

C'est d'autant plus surprenant que le film est très loin d'être nul. Bien au contraire. Il est divertissant et pour peu que vous laissiez votre cerveau au vestiaire (une constante dans les films de Michael Bay), vous passerez un agréable moment en compagnie des célèbres Autobots et décepticons, ceux-ci ayant fait peau neuve dans ce dernier opus.

La 3D, elle, est superbe. Enfin un format qui l'exploite au mieux, avec des passages en 2:40 pour les dialogues entre personnages, et d'autres en 1:78 pour les morceaux de bravoure et d'action. Un peu comme dans les GARDIENS de la GALAXIE, pour tout dire. Le travail de modélisation et de rendu final étant bien supérieur à ce qu'on peut voir dans le voir précité. Une 3D d'excellente qualité, je le rappelle.

Le jeu d'acteur, lui c'est le minimum syndical, avec le héros qui crève l'écran quoi qu'il arrive (Mark Wahlberg), la blondinette décérébrée de service, et le trouillard de circonstance... Bref, du stéréotype typiquement américain.

Si vous voulez vous en prendre plein la vue, et passer un bon moment, je vous le recommande... Si vous voulez du cinéma intellectuel, passez votre chemin. Mais en tous cas, je vous défends de ne pas être mort de rire (ou consterné, au choix), devant la profonde bêtise des dialogues (je voulais employer un autre mot pour qualifier la nature des dialogues, mais je ne veux pas paraître vulgaire). Rien que pour cela, il est culte.

I loved it at the cinema but did come away feeling like it was alittle messy in bits much like I did with Pacific rim but also like that once owning it and watching it in my own home it's a lot more better. I think it's probably the best of all of them as it has a slightly more serious tone to it, yeah it's still got cringe worthy human bits but they are way above anything in the previous 3. What really stands out is that the autobots ain't all super do gooders now, there's attitude there now they fight among themselves which makes for better characters.

But to the blu ray as this ain't a film review its about the disc and what a disc it is, this is a disc you put on to show your friends how good HD is. The cgi provided by ILM who is the best in the business and a good 5-10yrs infront of anyone is phenomenal, they all integrate perfectly and you can't see no flaws. The 3D is awesome too cos it's that version that shows the IMAX scenes in full screen and WOW does that show, the scale these scenes create is incredible. If you're lucky enough to be a film buff with surround sound that's capable of DTS MA and Dolby truHD which transformers is in 7.1 then make sure you nail stuff down cos it's loud.

All in all as a disc it's a full 10/10, as a film that you can just sit down and enjoy and leave your brain outside a 8/10

Average performances, a sketchy plot and an ending that sets up a possible sequel (Again!) basically describes this installment in the Transformers movies. The SFX were slightly above par, but in some places were entirely overdone. The plot had several vacancies within it and the best acting came from Stanley Tucci, whose character flip was hilarious.

After the end of Transformers Dark of the Moon, I honestly thought that it was the end of the franchise. But then they decided to make this. No Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Tyrese and others I couldn't imagine how they could continue... But this is called Transformers, not Humans, and as long as Peter Cullen is back adding heart and soul of Optimus Prime than that is all that is really needed.

Set immediately after the events of the Transformers victory against the Decepticons in their war in the city of Chicago, the Transformers are now being hunted by an Anti-Transformer group. Optimus himself finds sanctuary in an old theater and found by a father and daughter played by Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz. They and others come together to discover a dangerous Autobot serving a nefarious group that created them. I have to say Wahlberg is loads more capable a lead than LaBeouf, and Nicola Peltz provides nice eye candy but not as strong a character than the ladies that have come before her. The plot is complex, but not complicated, this movie is the longest of the Transformers movies but its never boring. Plenty of character development, Wahlberg, Tucci and Grammer's characters are played out very well, none better than Peter Cullen's. Plenty of great new characters as well as some amazing action.

Great Blu-Rays and Digital Copy.
