Written by Sly himself (with Juel Taylor) and directed by
Steven Caple jr the continuation of the Rocky series some 30 years after Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) retired.
Adonis Creed (Michael B Jordon) has since a defeat some three years back won a string of fights which leads him to have a shot at the WBC Title, which he wins, with the continued guidance of Rocky
With his achievement secured and security assured Adonis finally proposes to long-term partner Bianca (Tess Thomson) she accepts.
Meanwhile, a challenge to Adonis's title emerges from
Russia, the former fighter Ivan Drago's (Dolph Lundgren) who had killed Adonis's father Appolo in the ring some 33 years ago is seeking to regain lost glory with his son Viktor (Florian Muntean) a prospectively brutal opponent, if accepted by Adonis it would be billed as a rematch of the famous fight.
Adonis is keen to accept, however, Rocky doesn't see it as the right move for his fighter and walks away when Adonis is determined to go ahead.
The fight is a disaster for Adonis, he is left badly injured, however, keeps his belt because Victor had thrown an illegal punch.
It will take Adonis a long time to recover, meanwhile, he and Bianca have their first child.
The taunts from Moscow grow louder, Ivan wants his son to claim the crown with a re-match in Moscow, time has passed, if Adonis doesn't defend the title he'll be stripped of it.
Rocky will again become the boxer's right-hand and will prepare Adonis for a battle.
Will Adonis prevail?
A superb if but predictable sequel and indeed addition to the Rocky franchise.
A little slow perhaps at times, however the fight sequences more than make up for any shortcomings the film may have.
Certainly a must for Rocky fans.

If you have access to network T.V give Highwaymen a spin, it tells of how Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and Many Gault
(Woody Harrelson) former cops are hired to track down and finish the often admired by some, robbers/killers, Bonnie
and Clyde reign of unlawful practice............8.7/10

I remember Rock 4 a great film the only fault was his political statement at the end of the film, glad there was no political statement at the end of this movie. I didn't think we would ever ess Rocky again after his sixth film but here weare two movies later seeing him. I really enjoyed this movie and I also liked Creed l so we just have to wait to see if there is a third. A great addition to the collection a lot better then I thought the film would be and great that it was madea moreofa boxing movie not producing political issues which I thought spoilt Rocky 4 which was a great movie and to see Drago return with a son to fight Apollo Creed son was great. 5 star

A good movie, and a great ending to the Rocky saga. Thing come full circle. This is an emotional, motavational and heart warming movie.

The down sides to this movie are that is does come off as mixed elements of Rocky 2, 3, 4 and 5 all in the same movie making it feel a bit rushed. Also I am not a fan of the more hip hop soundtrack rather then the rock of the other movies.

The fight and training the human spirit rising above all challenges, that made the other movies great is here as well, making this a great edition and ending if that is the case.

Adonis Creed and his trainer Rocky Balboa are back in what is effectively Rocky 8. As ever, there are lots of continuity links, most favouritably to Rocky VI (which happens to be my favourite). Dolph Lundgren returns as Ivan (the Russian) Drago - if you know your stuff he killed Apollo Creed 30 odd years ago...and now he's after Creed junior, having trained his own son as an unstoppable boxing force. Stallone co-wrote and produced the film as well as repising Rocky and there are many other reappearing cast members (including His ex-wife.. awkward). This ranks up there amongst the best and most brutal of the franchise.

Ich bewerte die Bluray aus Großbritannien. Der Film: toller Film, eine Mischung aus der Story von Rocky 3 und Rocky 4. Sylvester Stallone spielt sehr gut, und Florian M. macht seine Sache gut als Viktor Drago. Der Film hat mir sogar besser gefallen als Creed 1. Aber: der Creed ist kein Schwergewicht, das sieht ja jeder. In Wirklichkeit könnte der niemals gegen den viel größeren Drago antreten. Hätte der Creed nicht wenigstens etwas an Muskelmasse zulegen können für diesen Film? Das Bild der Bluray ist gut, der Atmos-Sound eher unspektakulär. Nur beim großen Kampf zum Schluß haut der Atmos-Track richtig rein. Also Sound und Bild bieten leider keine Referenzqualität (da muß man zu Mad Max Fury Road greifen).

One of the best rocky saga films in my opinion
Dolph lundgren returns to train his son to fight the son whose father he killed in rocky 4. Rocky returns as creed trainer.
Quite cliched but still effective even after 8 films. Doesn't feel long feels just right entertaining throughout.
